SelfLore

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

SelfLore is a goal-tracking app for iPhone and Android made by Çağdaş Çetin, an independent developer in Türkiye who publishes as Cyronidas (“I”, “me”). I’m responsible for the data described here (the “data controller” under the GDPR and Türkiye’s KVKK). This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

1. Data that stays on your phone

Your goals, steps, progress and deadlines, and the number of AI plans you used this month, are saved in a file on your phone. I don’t have a copy and can’t see them.

If backups are turned on, the file is included in your phone’s iCloud backup (iPhone) or Google backup (Android). Apple and Google handle those backups under your account’s settings.

Settings → Delete all data erases all your goals. It keeps only this month’s AI plan count, so the monthly limit doesn’t start over. Deleting the app erases everything on the phone. A phone backup made earlier may still contain your goals until it’s replaced.

2. Data that leaves your phone

Like any internet request, each request below shows the receiving service your phone’s IP address.

AI-generated steps

When you create a goal with AI steps or tap Regenerate, the goal text and deadline (if you set one) are sent to Google’s Gemini API through Firebase AI Logic. They are used only to write the steps, and they aren’t linked to your name or an account. Google processes them under its terms for the paid Gemini API, which don’t allow Google to use them to improve its products. Google may keep requests for a limited time to detect abuse.

Please don’t put sensitive personal information in a goal you send to the AI. If you write your own steps, nothing is sent.

Sync (optional, SelfLore Pro)

If you sign in under Settings → Sync across devices, with Apple or Google, your goals are stored in Google’s cloud (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) so your phones can share them. That includes everything you see in a goal: its title, steps, progress, deadline and dates. Firebase also receives your sign-in details: a user ID, and the email address Apple or Google gives (Apple may give a private relay address). Your SelfLore Pro subscription is linked to that user ID in RevenueCat, so Pro works on all your phones.

When you delete a synced goal, the cloud keeps only its ID and the time it was deleted, so your other phones remove it too. Settings → Delete account deletes all your goals from the cloud and your sign-in. The goals on your phone stay. Signing out stops sync and keeps everything as it is.

Crash reports

When the app crashes or runs into an error, Firebase Crashlytics receives the error details, device model, operating system version, app version and a random ID for this installation. Goal text is never included.

Usage analytics

Google Analytics for Firebase receives a few anonymous events: a goal was created (and whether AI wrote its steps), a goal was completed, the SelfLore Pro screen was shown, a purchase was completed or cancelled, and the monthly AI limit was reached. It also records standard information such as app opens, app version, device type and approximate location (country and city, worked out from the IP address). Advertising ID collection is turned off, and goal text is never included.

Purchases

If you subscribe to SelfLore Pro, the App Store or Google Play handles the payment. I never see your card details. RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, receives the purchase record (product, price, dates, trial and renewal status, and store transaction ID) and a random app user ID, so it can confirm that Pro is active and restore it on a new phone.

App security and settings

Firebase App Check confirms that AI and sync requests come from the real SelfLore app, using Apple App Attest or Google Play Integrity. Firebase Remote Config downloads app settings, such as which AI model to use. Both use a random installation ID.

Emails to support

If you email me, I receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. An email started from Settings → Send feedback also includes the app version and whether you use iOS or Android. I use these only to reply to you.

3. Who processes the data

I don’t share your data with anyone else, unless the law requires it. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards for international transfers.

4. What the app doesn’t do

This website doesn’t use cookies or load anything from other sites.

5. How long data is kept

6. Why the data is used

Data is used only for these purposes. Each one has a legal basis under the GDPR and KVKK:

7. Security

Data leaves your phone only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). On the phone, your goals are protected by the phone’s own encryption and lock screen. In the cloud, they’re encrypted by Google and only your signed-in account can read them. No system is completely secure, though.

8. Children

SelfLore isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has sent me personal information, email me and I’ll delete it.

9. Your rights and choices

Your goals are under your control: on your phone, and in the cloud if you use sync, where Delete account removes them. Crash, analytics and purchase data are tied to random IDs, not to your name.

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your data, for example under the GDPR in the EU and the UK, or KVKK (Law No. 6698) in Türkiye. They can include the right to know what data is processed and who receives it, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to restrict or object to its use.

To use these rights, email me. I’ll reply free of charge within 30 days, and help as far as I can identify your data. Deleting the app resets its installation IDs. If you’re not happy with my answer, you can complain to your data protection authority, such as Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or the one in your EU country.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update this page and the date above. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes.
